तरुण विजय ने राज्यसभा की सीट उनसे पहले लपक ली।

संघ के पूर्व संपादकों में सांसदी को लेकर महाभारत : आर्गनाइजर और पांचजन्य के पूर्व संपादकों का इस तरह चर्चा में आना संघ के खांटी स्वयंसेवकों को शायद भा नहीं रहा होगा। लेकिन सच तो सच है। संघ की कथित ईमानदार, उज्जवल छवि को दागदार बनाते हुए दो शीर्ष पत्रकार इस तरह से भिड़ेंगे, संघ के नेताओं ने सोचा भी न होगा। पांचजन्य के पूर्व संपादक और भाजपा प्रवक्ता तरुण विजय की राज्यसभा उम्मीदवारी पर आर्गनाइजर के पूर्व संपादक शेषाद्रिचारी का भड़क उठना लाजिमी था। वो तरुण विजय के भाजपा प्रवेश के काफी अरसा पूर्व से भाजपा की सेवा कर रहे थे। उन्हें संघ ने सन् 2002 में ही भाजपा में राष्ट्रीय मंत्री के तौर पर स्थापित कर दिया था। वह उत्तराखण्ड भाजपा के प्रभारी भी रहे। जाहिर है, राज्यसभा में जाने का उनका हक तरुण विजय से पहले बनता था, लेकिन उनकी आस धरी की धरी रह गई। तरुण विजय ने राज्यसभा की सीट उनसे पहले लपक ली।
चारी का गुस्सा सातवें आसमां पर पहुंच गया। तैश में उन्होंने बीजेपी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष नीतिन गडकरी को जो पत्र लिख मारा, उससे बहुत कुछ साफ हो जाता है। इसमें उन्होंने तरुण विजय को एक प्रकार से भ्रष्ट सिद्ध करने की कोशिश की है। उन्होंने लिखा है कि 'उस व्यक्ति को उत्तराखण्ड से प्रत्याशी बनाया गया है जिसकी प्रामाणिकता, ईमानदारी संदिग्ध है, जिसका दामन पांच्चजन्य का संपादक रहते हुए आर्थिक भ्रष्टाचार के छींटों से दागदार है।' दूसरी ओर तरुण विजय के नजदीकी सूत्रों का कहना है कि तरुण विजय ने भी पलटवार की पूरी तैयारी कर ली है।
सूत्रों के मुताबिक, आर्गनाइजर का संपादक रहते हुए शेषाद्रि चारी की कारस्तानी के सबूत जुटा लिए गए हैं। तरुण विजय राज्यसभा की सदस्यता की शपथ लेने के बाद आस्तीन में छुपे सांपों से बदला लेने की पूरी तैयारी कर चुके हैं। गौर तलब है कि दो साल पहले, सन् 2008 के फरवरी महीने में तरुण विजय को पांचजन्य के संपादक पद से बहुत ही गमगीन माहौल में हटना पड़ा था। वह पद छोड़ने को तैयार नहीं थे, लेकिन उनके खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप दर आरोप हवा में उछाले गए, देश के तमाम दैनिक पत्रों, साप्ताहिक पत्रों में उनके खिलाफ आरोपों का सप्रमाण प्रकाशन हुआ। तरुण विजय ने खण्डन की तमाम कोशिशें कीं लेकिन संघ नेतृत्व ने उन्हें विदा करने का मन बना लिया।
संघ से नजदीकी से जुड़े रहे कुछ खास लोगों का मानना है कि ये तो महाभारत की शुरुआत भर है। पांचजन्य और आर्गनाइजर अखबार के आंतरिक विवादों की गूंज अब भाजपा में नये गुल खिलाने जा रही है। सूत्रों के अनुसार, शेषाद्रिचारी और तरुण विजय के बीच जंग की शुरुआत केंद्र में एनडीए सरकार बनते ही हो गयी थी। दोनों के बीच मीडिया में संघ का चेहरा बनने को लेकर जो होड़ मची, उसका नतीजा यह निकला कि संघ ने राम माधव को आगे लाकर प्रवक्ता पद का सृजन कर दिया और दोनों अखबारों को अपना मुखपत्र कहना बंद कर दिया। दोनों के मध्य बीचबचाव और मध्यस्थता की कोशिशें भी संघ ने की लेकिन कोई फायदा नहीं हुआ। इस बीच शेषाद्रिचारी ने पांचजन्य में तरुणविजय द्वारा सताए गए लोगों को संरक्षण देकर आग में घी डालने का काम किया। आगबबूला तरुण विजय ने तब शेषाद्रिचारी को आर्गनाइजर के संपादक पद से हटवाने में एड़ी चोटी एक कर दी और अपने दोस्त बाला शंकर को संपादक बनवाकर दम लिया।
चोट से घायल शेषाद्रिचारी भी मौके की ताक में लगे रहे। और जब पांचजन्य में तरुण विजय के बुरे दिन शुरु हुए तो देश के तमाम राष्ट्रीय अंग्रेजी पत्रों में खबरें प्लांट करवाकर इसका बदला लिया गया। पांचजन्य के वर्तमान संपादक बलदेव शर्मा भी तरुण विजय के सताए लोगों में रह चुके हैं। सन् 1998 में उन्होंने भारी मन से पांचजन्य के एसोसिएट एडिटर पद से यह कहते हुए त्यागपत्र दे दिया था कि तरुण विजय के रहते पांचजन्य में काम करना संभव ही नहीं है। तरुण विजय के हटते ही बलदेव शर्मा फिर सक्रिय हुए और संपादक पद पर कब्जाकर उन्होंने भी तरुण विजय के खिलाफ अपनी पुरानी खुन्नस का बदला पूरा कर लिया।
लेकिन, भाजपा में आते ही तरुण विजय ने जिस तरह से राज्य सभा की सीट पर हाथ साफ किया, उससे बड़े-बड़े दिग्गज हैरत में हैं। दबी जुबां तरुण विजय के खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों को सभी गिना रहे हैं, लेकिन कोई बोलने को तैयार नहीं था। शेषाद्रिचारी ने आगे आकर मोर्चा खोल दिया है। देखना दिलचस्प होगा कि दो दिग्गज भूतपूर्व संपादकों की यह लड़ाई किस करवट बैठती है। तरुण विजय तो फिलहाल निर्विरोध राज्यसभा पहुंच चुके हैं।चारी ने जरुर मुंह खोलकर संकट मोल ले लिया है। माना जा रहा है कि उन्हें बीजेपी संसदीय दल के निर्णय पर उंगली उठाने के आरोप में पार्टी से मुअत्तल किया जा सकता है। तरुण विजय के खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों पर सन् 2008 में अंग्रेजी दैनिक द स्टेट्समैंन में छपी एक रिपोर्ट...
Fund fraud hits RSS publication "Panchajanya"
Dipankar Chakraborty, The Statesman, NEW DELHI, March 10. : Panchajanya, a Sangh Parivar publication, once edited by Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, appears to have come under a cloud after alleged financial irregularities involving the magazine surfaced recently.
Sources told The Statesman that the RSS top brass is seized of the matter and is contemplating action against those believed to be responsible for tarnishing the image of the publication. Charges range from “misusing” the name of the magazine to collect advertisements and financial assistance to floating parallel publications and souvenirs besides diversion of money to bank accounts other than that of Bharat Prakashan, the publisher of Panchajanya.
When the Statesman on the basis of certain documents in its possession talked to RSS leader and director of Panchajanya, Mr Ram Madhav, he termed the allegations levelled against the editor of the magazine, Mr Tarun Vijay, “baseless”. He denied that the RSS had anything to do with the publication of the magazine and said he had no information about alleged financial irregularities. He also denied that the RSS was contemplating removal of the editor. Being editor of Panchajanya did not mean that you could not work elsewhere, he added.
Copies of some of the documents and bank statements with The Statesman show that money collected through publications and souvenirs was diverted to different bank accounts. Not a single paise went to the Panchajanya’s bank account although the money was collected in the name of Panchajanya, sources alleged. A separate bank account in the name of M/S Samarsatta Granth Samiti was opened in the Rani Jhansi Road branch of Syndicate Bank in New Delhi. Financial assistance was sought, through bank draft only, in the name of Macchan (a Noida-based publication) for publishing Samrasta Ke Sutra, a commemorative publication to mark the birth centenary of RSS ideologue Guru Golwalkar.
At an internal meeting of board of directors of Panchajanya in December 2000 a section of board members had objected to the use of the Panchajanya logo and address (Sanskriti Bhawan, Deshbandhu Gupta Marg New Delhi-110055) for “Panchajanya Nachiteka Prathisthan”, set up on 24 December 1999 with its bank account at Jhandewalan Extension branch of Punjab National Bank. “Panchajanya Nachiketa Prathisthan” had Mr Vajpayee, Mr K Sudershan, Mr S Gurumurthy, Mr Balbir Punj and Mr Tarun Vijay as prominent members. The board members also took exception to collection of funds in the name of “Bharat Gaurav Smarika” using Panchajanya’s name.
On 30 May 2002 as petroleum minister in the NDA government, Mr Ram Naik responding to a request released Rs 85,000 as advertisement to “Panchajanya Nachiketa Prathisthan” for its Daridra Narayan souvenir. A separate bank account was also allegedly opened for the “Kirtikalash-Bharat Gaurav Smarika” under the aegis of Panchajanya Nachiketa Pratisthan. Cheques and drafts were solicited in the name of Bharat Gaurav Smarika, not Bharat Prakashan, publishers of Panchajanya.
In a letter dated 7 December 2006, issued by Madhya Pradesh government’s public relations secretariat to “Hrittik Prakashan” bearing the post box number (5803) of Panchajanya’s Jhandewalan office, an order for 200 copies of a book on Kailash Mansarovar published by Hrittik Prakashan, a publishing house owned by the wife of Mr Tarun Vijay, was placed. It is alleged that large amounts of money collected in the name of the magazine were siphoned off. It is also being alleged that the editor of Panchajanya runs the Indian Institute of Information Technology, based at Jhajhar in Dehra Dun and collected large amounts during the NDA rule at the Centre.
Rubbishing all charges against him, Mr Tarun Vijay said he could account for all the money collected through any of the organisations and publications. He denied charges of financial irregularities in the Indian Institute of Information Technology of which he is also one of the board members. He said the institute was supporting 150 tribals from North-eastern states and vested interests were spreading all kinds of false information against him.
“I don’t run the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dehradun, alone. It also has Mr Ashok Jhunjhunwallah of wireless loop-technology fame as one of the board members. The institute is supporting 150 tribal students from North-eastern states. If there were any financial irregularities in its running then chief minister Mr ND Tiwari would not have sanctioned a grant to us. Being in Panchajanya does not mean you cannot work for weaker sections of society,” Mr Vijay asserted. “There is not a single case of financial irregularities against me. To what extent do you expect me to go to prove my innocence against these baseless allegations?” he asked.
Mr Tarun Vijay admitted that his wife owned Hritik Prakashan and it had come out with “a widely acclaimed book” on Kailash Mansarovar. “The book was sold through the then RSS chief Rajju Bhaiya and Sudershan ji’s consent. Both the RSS leaders recommended that the book should be widely read,” he said.
The Panchajanya Nachiketa Sansthan (PNS) instituted the Nachiketa Award for best journalist with the consent of the RSS leaders who were signatories to it, he added. About alleged irregularities in funds management, Mr Vijay said the auditors to Panchajanya maintained the account of PNS. “There is no room for any wrong doing. It (PNS) was formed to celebrate the golden jubilee of Panchajanya under the aegis of RSS. Daridra Narayan was a souvenir. Not a single paise was collected without the prior approval of PNS ‘nayasi’ (board members). Every single paise is accounted for,” he said.
On the allegations about Macchan publishing House, which had come out with Samrastra Ke Sutra, the Panchajanya editor said it was approved by RSS chief Mr Sudershan and the book was distributed at RSS branches across the country.
